The state government is also taking certain measures to manage this problem so that the patients must not get affected by the poor treatment.

According to the recent data released by the US Department of Health and Human Services more than 4 states in the USA have complained about the acute shortage of ICU beds for the severely infected covid 19 patients. The data states shocking results where only less than 10% of ICU beds are available in the state hospitals and this has raised more tensions for the medical authorities.

As per the department, these four states are Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, and News Hampshire. Along with these states, some other states have also raised the concern of the shortage of medical supplies and healthcare staff shortage. Now the situation has become tense and the government has to come up with the best preventive measures.

The major reason for the shortage of ICU beds in the hospitals is due to a significant increase in the omicron variant Covid 19 cases. The demand for intensive health care resources is experiencing a sudden rise and it must be noted that the medical supplies are managed by the Central Government directly. Due to this, there has been a shortage of healthcare resources including medical staff, and in some parts of the country, testing facilities are also facing scarcity.

Despite record break omicron strain cases in the United States, the state health care system and regulatory bodies are working continually to handle the crisis situation and are in direct contact with the White House administration to consider the current situation and fulfill the demands raised by the hospital authorities.

The ICU beds are considered very important for patients with severe infections. If scarcity persists in the states, the mortality rate will rise sharply and it will become very difficult for the medical agencies to curb the situation.

The agencies are advising citizens to isolate themselves after testing positive and in case of high emergency must visit hospitals. The omicron variant is not severe as per the studies and if fully vaccinated with booster dose then the chances of getting hospitalized reduce by 90 percent if infected.

The health care centers and administration continue to work and adopt measures to bring the situation under control.
