Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the US is in the limelight due to several issues including vaccination. The number of Covid cases in the country is breaking all the existing records due to the deadly combination of the Delta and Omicron variants. The hospitalization rate is steady yet shows an upward graph when compared with the previous surge.
Biden Administration Unites To spread Awareness About Covid Vaccination
Until Saturday, the total hospital admissions were more than 153,000 which is much more than last year’s winter wave. The government is trying all the possible measures to control the spread of the deadly virus and safeguard its citizens. Vaccination is the best and a solid method to secure lives from the current and future strains of the covid 19.
One of the most prominent steps that the Biden administration took to limit the spread of the virus and ensure optimum safety is the vaccination mandate for the healthcare workers, Federal employees, large corporate houses with at least 100 and more employees, and for the Central Government contractors.
The mandate stated that the company with more than 100 employees should make sure that its staff is fully vaccinated else the employers will be punished with a fine of $ 14000. It also requested employers to ask their employees to check themselves at least once a week for Covid. The frontline workers were also urged to follow the vaccine and testing mandate rule made by the White House Administration.
The vaccination mandate introduction received mixed responses across the different states. Some groups were in favor of the Covid 19 vaccine mandate while others opposed it. The Covid vaccine mandate was viewed as a threat to the concept of federalism as stated by the states while filing lawsuits against the Biden Government. It was viewed as a threat to individual freedom and the right to choose health care services. Hence, the rule was challenged in the supreme court and a ban was put on the rule till the further hearing.
A certain group of medical experts in the country also stated earlier that this sacking of vaccine mandate rule will reduce the pace of vaccination drive in the country and the cases will further rise in the country due to the unvaccinated citizens
According to the data available with the US Public Health departments, approximately 36 percent of the US population is yet to receive the vaccination and 64 percent of the entire population is fully vaccinated.
On Thursday, the supreme court gave its judgment on the Covid Vaccine Mandate rule and the Supreme Court decided to put a halt to this mandate for the private employees and health care staff who were asked to follow the rule. But, the Biden administration with an objective to promote welfare and prevent the enormous spread of the Covid is pushing its efforts to encourage vaccination drives across the country. The Biden team is regrouping and exerting to spread more awareness about the Covid vaccine and booster shots.
