The Governor of the State of New York, Kathy Hochul has been continuously taking updates about the condition and latest development in the covid 19 infection.
Positive Results Found, Updated Governor Kathy Hochul
New York was the second state after California where the omicron variant cases were found and the medical authorities detected 5 cases of the new version of covid 19 in a single day.
Since the detection of initial cases in the state, Gov. Kathy Hochul never looked back and has been taking daily resorts and analyzing the situation of the state so that the citizens can be prevented from the new strain.
She has been very active through her official Twitter account and has been communicating and motivating the New Yorkers to stay safe and protected.
On Saturday Governor Kathy Hochul, took an update on various developments made to curb the omicron variant cases in the state. The latest progress has been positive and the data states that the total number of tests done on Saturday was 327,427. The positive cases reported were 47,870 and when compared with the previous week’s data the positive results have been reduced by almost 45 percent which shows the peak is reducing.
The positivity rate was found to be 14.27 and there is also a tremendous reduction from 23.17 percent during the start of the month of January 2022. Also, hospitalization has also been reduced and a total of 12,169 hospital admissions were found on Saturday, with 187 deaths in the state.
The medical experts in the state are also expecting that the peak will be over in some time and the cases will start to reduce further in the upcoming days and the current data is good when compared with the previous week’s data of this year.
The vaccination rate is also increasing in the state and with an average of 100,000 vaccines being administered in the state.
Governor Hochul has been stating from her office that we are going towards curbing the number of cases in New York and our medical authorities have been continuously working on the same. Although the journey is long and we have to work collectively to safeguard lives and families in the long run.
Furthermore, she also announced that I am urging the citizens of New York to receive the vaccination as soon as possible if they want to protect themselves from death.
The booster shot is offering the ultimate level of protection and safety and has reduced the hospitalization and mortality rate in the country by 90 percent. So why can’t we get a booster jab at the earliest, asked the Governor.
Also, she urged all the parents to get their kids vaccinated and when going in public wear a mask as it will keep the infection away and offer security. We all have to contribute if we want this winter surge to be less severe.
