A few states in the USA are experiencing less cases of the new variant of covid 19 omicron. It has been anticipated that the peak cases in such states have been completed and now the cases will reduce further.
Easing Down Restrictions Is Not A Good Idea, Omicron Variant Is Still Alive
The State of New York which was in panic mode has started to see 31 percent less cases in comparison to the previous weeks. When New York entered the year 2022, an average of 90,000 daily cases were detected and now average cases are less than 50,000.
The states where the cases are seeing a decline mode are suggesting to the citizens that this is not the right time to ease the restriction even if the cases are getting lower. We need to follow all the guidelines laid by the state authorities and US Medical agencies.
With the rise of the flu cases in the country, the US experienced a higher number of covid 19 cases and now the flu cases are also decreasing.
Many medical experts are stating that in some parts of the country the peak is yet to start as these locations experienced omicron cases very late and hence the next few weeks will be very tough and might be harsh on people who are not vaccinated.
The vaccination rate is increasing at a very low pace and giving restless nights to the medical agencies and government in the United States. According to the latest updates on the vaccination rate, it is standing at 63 percent and till Tuesday 79 percent of the entire population in the US has availed at least one dose of vaccine.
Dr. Anthony Fauci has stated that we need to focus more on motivating more people to participate in the vaccination drive in order to achieve a 100 percent vaccination rate in the country. It is not impossible to achieve but because of some people, it is getting very difficult to reach that level.
The omicron variant is not severe in comparison to the delta strain but its contagious level is very high which is making it difficult for the medical agencies to allow the US public to ease the policies and rules. The healthcare officials are stating that we need to wait until the cases are getting reduced in every part of the United States.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it has been found that some countries are not experiencing lower numbers of cases because of the omicron variant and soon The US will also feel the difference in the reduction of the daily cases.
As of now the seven days average cases are more than 800,000 in the US and it might increase more in the upcoming days but will eventually lower down by the start of February,
Although some experts are also stating the fact that the omicron variant can be the end of the pandemic in the world but needs more data and research to come to a final conclusion.
