The State of New York has been recovering from the attack of the covid 19 new variant omicron variant and it is being clearly witnessed from the latest data and reports released by the State authorities of New York.

Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul has been vigorously working for the betterment of the citizens of the state. She has been continuously thanking the White House administration and President for helping the state in curbing the omicron cases. The State of New York, on the other hand, has been following the directions laid by the federal agencies and our healthcare authorities have been setting up new testing locations in the State.

Since the Outbreak of the omicron cases in the State, Gov. Hochul’s administration has set up 13 new testing locations and the previous week set up more than 19 SUNY-based testing facilities in the State.

After the early detection of the omicron strain in New York, the seven-day average daily cases were increasing at a double rate. The start of the New year 2022 saw a huge rise in the omicron and delta variant cases. The peak was high and the state saw an average of 90,000 cases per day which is now reducing by more than 31 percent which is actually very good news for the citizens.

Now according to the reports, On Thursday the hospital admissions have seen more than 20 percent decrease when compared with the previous week. Also, the seven-day average cases are now reducing by 47 percent. This reduction is being seen in all counties and the state witnessed around 185 death cases.

On 2nd January the state of New York recorded a 24 percent positivity rate and last week it was reduced to 14 percent and not this week the positivity rate is revoking between 11-12 percent. Although the seven-day average positivity rate is 13.30% and 11,370 infected patients were hospitalized. 

Governor Kathy Hochul also announced that there is a significant rise in the vaccination rate in the state and New York has been able to vaccinate more than 3.5 million citizens since the authorization of vaccination in the country. The State has been able to manage more than 87,000 vaccines in the past 24 hours.

She has been continuously urging the citizens of New York to get vaccinated as soon as possible so that they can protect themselves from the omicron variant of coronavirus. Also, the eligible individuals must get booster shots as it will help in generating more antibodies which will help in fighting against both delta and omicron strains in the country.

Also, people must follow all the rules like wearing masks, sanitizing from time to time, and maintaining social distance in order to prevent the attack of the covid 19 virus.
