The highest-grossing actor of all time Samuel L. Jackson shared the instance when he decided to portray Ptolemy Gray in the mini-series The Last Days Of Ptolemy Gray in a news interview.

The 73-year-old admitted his fear of being Dementia-stricken. The series is one of the actor’s most personal choices. He took the project because his mother, grandfather, uncle, and aunt all suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. In the series, Samuel plays a 91-year-old man with this degenerative cognitive condition.

For a question raised as to whether he is afraid of the condition because of his family history, the actor replied that whenever he fails to remember something, he gets concerned. “Of course.

“See, like that! But it happened to my mom and my grandfather in front of me. So I think I’m okay. For the moment,” he added. 

The Pulp Fiction actor also remembered the last days with his mother (who died in 2012) who was suffering from Dementia. He elaborated an instant when his mother saw him on the TV and called him by his name.

The Snakes On A Plane actor also admitted that his 39-year-old daughter restricted him from using social media for there is a chance of mistaking his humor in a wrong way. The actor is nowadays more cautious about what he says on social media platforms.

The 73-year old is seen gearing up for the release of one of his personal projects The Last Days Of Ptolemy Gray. The first episode of the series on released on March 11, 2022, and the versatile actor is seen promoting the movie in his own way.

His concerns about aging and dementia were clearly visible on his face while doing the interview. “I’m getting older every day,” said Jackson, 73. “I’m a little old. I know a lot about aging! I’ve been around for a while.” the actor concluded. 

The actor shared his take on the importance of such movies stating that these stories also should be told to the world and how important is this project is to him.
