Following a 10 episode broadcast of the series on TV Asahi in 2021, Netflix premiered the anime series adaptation by Liden Films worldwide in March 2022.
It’s been only a week since the arrival of the first season and it is somewhat soon to expect season 2. May it be any series, renewal can take weeks or even months. The unexpected good responses from critics and fans make the chances of the series being renewed a reality.
The manga released 8 volumes of the series and the first 4 volumes are shown in the Netflix original. Hence, there is a possibility that the other 4 volumes get the right to be aired as an anime series. The series however managed to make its place in the top ten in five countries on Netflix.
What Could We Expect In Season 2?
As admirers, we all understood a lot of instances of how the helpless 4-year-old ended up living alone. In the four years of his life, Kotaro faced neglect from his parents, traumatizing him at this young age. He was left to go hungry all day and how far can a four-year-old go.
Kotaro is only attended by his neighbor Karino and Karino starts getting closer to the boy as time passes. Karino finds out the fact that Kotaro’s mother has passed away and Kotaro is still unaware of this truth. Kotaro’s father was abusive and had no access to the little boy. So, the only closest person to Kotaro now is his neighbor Karino.
How Long Is The Wait For The Second Season?
It is easy to assume but false hope can only make the situation worse. Still, assuming the work on season 2 has started, the sequel will be ready to get aired by the end of the year or the beginning of 2023.
