Alexandria Ocasio-Corte Criticized Mark Meadows For Seeking Pardon: ‘He knew He Was Breaking The Law’

Tuesday, June 28, during The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, better known by her initials, AOC, finally spoke about the committee hearing from January 6.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Says Mark Meadows Showed A ‘Consciousness Of Guilt’

Cassidy Hutchinson, the former White House aide to Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, testified against the 45th US President after learning about the events leading up to the day when violence was erupted against the administration.

On the day of the hearing, Meadows and Rudy Giuliani allegedly asked the previous president Trump for a pardon.

Rep. Ocasio Cortez of the United States claims that asking for forgiveness is amazing and should be admired, however accepting forgiveness is an act of bearing culpability in front of the law.

The lawmaker, who is 32 years old, said it is amazing when someone acknowledges their errors and comes forward to ask for forgiveness out of guilt and awareness.

She continued by saying that Mark Meadows, who serves as Trump’s personal chief of staff, asked for a pardon after realising the gravity of the incident.

According to the sources, in addition to Meadows and Giuliani, a few more Republicans also spoke out to ask the former President to pardon them for their actions. The activist Ocasio Cortez responded by saying that everyone who supported Trump in the case must pay the price at all costs.

According to the Democratic party member, those who pleaded should at the very least be kicked out of the House of Representatives.

Ocasio explains to Colbert, the host of the show, that if he were an elected official who was purportedly seeking pardon for the crime committed, asking for an apology would be the bare minimum he could do. However, such officials must go above and beyond to demonstrate to the rest of the world that there is such a thing as The Law of the United States of America.

Republicans who demanded an apology included Rep. Majorie Tylor Greene, who previously accused the current US Representative Ocasio, claiming that Ocasio’s supporters were terrorists back then.

Ocasio said that working alongside people she doesn’t want to be associated with makes her feel somewhat strange.

The activist, however, wants to publicise the Republican pardon seekers from the Capitol attack. Ocasio stated that she does not know who all of her coworkers were involved in the attack during a different conversation with Dana Bash on June 26, but she wants to shed light on them and subject each of them to the equal protection of the law.

Rep. Scott Perry requested an apology from the President in addition to the names that had been tallied after introducing him to Jeffrey Clark, interim Attorney General, who rejected Trump’s assessment of the 2020 presidential election by asserting that it was not tainted in an interview.

Further claims have been rejected by Perry’s office after he requested the pardon.
