Peter Jackson Says Amazon Failed To Deliver Scripts

Peter Jackson revealed that he never received the scripts for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power after Amazon said they would share them.

Peter Jackson spent a lot of time in Middle-earth after directing both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. The franchise is now on Amazon, creating the most ambitious TV show yet with power rings.

Missed Amazon delivery

Peter Jackson has previously said he’s excited to see what Amazon does with it. The Lord of the Rings. At some point during the show’s development, Amazon asked for his opinion, saying they would send him the scripts once they were completed. However, Jackson shared on The Hollywood Reporterit is Deals podcast that the scripts never happened:

“They asked me if I wanted to be involved – [writer-producer Fran Walsh] and I – and I said, “That’s an impossible question to answer without seeing a script,” so they said, “As soon as we have the first two scripts, we’ll send them to you.” And the scripts never appeared. That’s the last thing I heard, which is good. No complaints at all.
