‘The Little Mermaid’ Star Halle Bailey Debunks ‘X-Men’ Casting Claims

Halle Bailey, who is set to star in Disney’s live-action remake of The little Mermaidresponded to claims she should play Kitty Pryde in Marvel Studios x-men to restart.

Marvel Studios has yet to announce any plans for their reboot of the x-men franchise. Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox Film Studios, the film rights to the X-Men have returned to Marvel, and fans are waiting to see how the mutant team will fit into the MCU.

Recently, a rumor surfaced online that Halle Bailey had been cast as Kitty Pryde in the yet to be announced film. x-men reboot and Little Mermaid the actress has now responded.

Twitter user “@BaileyUnspoken” recently tweeted claiming Variety had confirmed Halle Bailey’s casting as Kitty Pryde. The Variety article included in the tweet made no mention of the X-Men.

Retweeting the claim, Halle Bailey quickly dismissed the rumour, stating “it’s not true”. The straight answer leaves no doubt that Bailey hasn’t been in talks with Marvel about the role of Kitty Pryde. Without x-men movie even officially confirmed by Marvel Studios at this time, casting announcements are unlikely to be made anytime soon.

Patrick Stewart recently appeared in the MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhich saw him resume his pre-MCU x-men role of Professor X, although he played an alternate universe version of the character. Ms. Marvel also confirmed that Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan is a mutant, making her the first character with potential ties to the X-Men in the main MCU universe.
