VFX Artists Say Marvel Didn’t Notify Them Of Avengers Release Date Change

VFX artists who worked with Marvel Studios on Avengers: Infinity War and End of Game said the studio did not notify them when the release dates for those films were brought forward.

Many voices in the visual effects industry have recently spoken of the unbearable workloads imposed by Marvel Studios as a client. Their testimonials shed light on the impact of Marvel’s CGI movies on the VFX artists who help make the movies a reality.

The most recent confession from visual effects industry sources reveals that their workload was seemingly overlooked by Marvel when the last two avengers the films received earlier release dates.

A new report shared by Gizmodo included new comments from VFX artists who had worked on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame for Marvel Studios.

A VFX artist has revealed that his team never received a notification from Marvel Studios when Avengers: Endgame received an earlier release date than originally planned. The film was originally scheduled to arrive in May, before being moved to April.

Revealing that the VFX artists working on the film were to know their new deadline via a press release, a source said:

“The worst part was when Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame were coming out. They actually bumped that version up a month, but they didn’t tell us. I remember being on the floor with my team and one of my artists came up to me and said, ‘Hey, see that?’ and he shows me the article saying that Marvel pushed back the release date by a month… So we found out through a press release that we had a month less to work on all these plans.

The anonymous VFX artist said that when their team finally heard from Marvel, the studio claimed they “forgot” to let them know of the change. While the cast and crew of She-Hulk recently expressed solidarity with VFX workers, Marvel Studios executives have yet to comment on recent statements from VFX artists.

Here is the synopsis of She-Hulkthe next live-action version of the MCU:
