‘I Am Groot’ is Disney’s new short series with 5 episodes that are definitely shorter than fans expected.
The episodes are only 4-5 minutes long, which only teases the fun part of Groot, his phase of life, and how he met the Guardians.
The start of the series
Groot sees a plant receiving all the care just like him, on the ship where he was born. As Groot was jealous of the other plant, his quest to try and harm him resulted in a potty accident that allowed him to walk and run.
All five episodes are simply about how Groot got along with the Guardians and how he lives his life from his point of view. All we’ve seen so far about Groot in the movies is that he only acts wisely when there’s a desperate need for him. Other than that, he’s mostly on his own and takes the least part in any battles or decisions the Guardians make.
With these shorts, we see how Groot decides on various things in his mind, apart from what others expect of him.
The idea of introducing “I Am Groot” is to give fans an icebreaker and help them enjoy a bit of the MCU guy who hasn’t had a solo movie so far.
As Rocket’s story is to be revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol-3, it was time to also give a short animated series of introduction to Groot.
Groot has played many memorable roles throughout the MCU, which has made fans love this character in every movie where he spends his screen time.
Can we expect more Marvel shorts in the future?
Marvel never starts a project without any future plans! One of the reasons for releasing short episodes of Groot is to see if fans identify with this idea of watching smaller, teasing shorts about their favorite characters.
So let’s see if Marvel considers such projects in the future and brings us some of our lost but favorite characters, even for a few minutes.
