Jolissa Fuentes, 22, a Californian, has been missing since Sunday August 7.
Jolissa Fuentes’ family say she disappeared after stopping at an AM/PM gas station on Nebraska Avenue in Selma, California. The Selma Police Department is not currently investigating the case as a kidnapping despite indications of wrongdoing.
Fuentes was last seen driving a gray 2011 Hyundai Accent with license plate 8MPU766, according to ABC. The car has not yet been located.
The Fuentes family initially offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the location of their daughter. According to KMJNOW, this number has been steadily increasing due to a lack of leads. It eventually rose to $2,000 and is currently $5,000.
What happened to Jolissa Fuentes? Details of his disappearance
Jolissa’s relatives said that just before she disappeared, she attended a party and went to her grandmother’s house to collect a suitcase and some money. The 22-year-old was last seen on camera at the Selma AM/PM gas station at 4.06am on Sunday when she was seen buying a snack and leaving the premises in a car.
Her father, Joey Fuentes, claimed in an interview with Fox News Digital that he thought his daughter had been kidnapped and that it was unusual for her to go so long without telling her family.
Norma Nunez, Jolissa’s mother, claimed that she too believed foul play may have been involved and that her daughter’s unexpected disappearance was not in line with her usual behavior:
Although the call went unanswered, Nunez acknowledged that Jolissa Fuentes called her sister at 5:26 a.m. Sunday. It was his last call that was recorded on tape.
Additionally, the Fuentes family revealed to Fox News that Jolissa frequently traveled to a remote area of Selma where she was said to love the scenery.
Authorities are still investigating the incident and are working with Jolissa Fuentes’ family to determine where her phone was last seen.
