MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: After sharing a photo of herself without TV makeup, Savannah Guthrie received praise from her admirers for maintaining her authenticity.
The Today co-host described how she overslept and nearly missed her live stream on Thursday, August 11, in a sequence of images that appear to have been taken in natural light. As she rushed to the scene, the 50-year-old news anchor posted some candid photos on Instagram. Just 26 minutes before the start of her morning show on NBC, one of the photos showed her in the back of her automobile.
Savannah posted a selfie of herself on Instagram Stories with the caption, “I overslept it’s 6:34am and I’m still in the car.” The selfie showed Savannah smiling and removing makeup. Her blonde hair looked slightly darker than usual, and viewers could discern natural creases and moles under her eyes. She had what looked like a gold necklace hanging from her casual black dress.

The appearance, meanwhile, was far from the gloss and glamor of network television. Another candid video of the host entering the building was shared as she captured the episode. She held out her palms and smiled, carrying a large tote bag and bucket hat. She arrived at work, was dazzled by the so-called “wonder workers” on her cosmetics team, and then heard screams as she entered the set at 6:54 a.m. “What a miracle”, you say.
