Comedian Teddy Ray died in apparent drowning, body found in pool by maintenance worker

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Teddy Ray died Aug. 12 after drowning, according to reports. A maintenance worker saw the 32-year-old man floating in a private pool and called the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

According to TMZ, authorities do not believe the death of Ray, whose real name was Theodore Brown, was caused by foul play. But no one yet knows in which private pool the actor drowned. Ray lived in Gardena, about 200 km west of where he was found. Sources told TMZ on Aug. 15 that investigators will continue to review Ray’s autopsy results before announcing the official cause of death, which is likely drowning.
