LaFlamme, 58, made headlines on Monday after posting a video on Twitter. “With a range of feelings,” she added.
She said: “You should hear it straight from me, in my opinion. I’ve had the privilege of being a guest in your home for 35 years and delivering the news every night. My long career at CTV News has come to an end. unexpectedly when Bell Media informed me on June 29 that they had “made a business decision” to terminate my employment.
Bell Media’s abrupt decision blindsided her, she continued, and she was still shocked and confused by it. She added that she had been instructed not to tell her colleagues or “the public” until the terms of her departure could be negotiated. It has happened before.
