Wikipedia: Here are the photos of Ashley Reeves’ injury and her paralyzed story
Ashley Reeves suffered many hardships after her disappearance in 2006. She then gained notoriety as the victim of three strangulation attempts. Reeves was the target of an attempted murder by her teacher, who also saw her physically.
As Ashley was only 17 and the phone was registered in her mother’s name, she contacted the phone provider after the teenager went missing. All phone records of her incoming and outgoing calls were obtained by her.
When Michelle checked the logs, she saw multiple calls from the same phone number. Samson Shelton, 26, was the person Michelle chose to speak to.
Samson was asked by Michelle if he had seen or heard of Ashley. Before she could ask why he was talking to her teenage daughter, he quickly hung up the phone after saying, “No.” Luckily, Ashley kept her friends informed about her personal life, and what they revealed to the police made Michelle shiver.
Ashley’s acquaintances said she was romantically involved with Samson, an older man who also happened to be her teacher. Samson finally confessed after spending hours being questioned about his relationship with the woman and his presence on the day of her death.
According to Wikipedia, Ashey Reeves is a survivor who endured three bizarre attempts.
Ashley Reeves’ experience was also featured in the film Left for Dead. Her parents informed the police about her daughter’s disappearance after she disappeared.
Because she had used her car that day, Jeremy, her boyfriend at the time, was their initial suspect; however, the police quickly exonerated him because he was unaware of her abduction.
Sam Shelton was detained as a child suspect when his family learned he was the last person they spoke to. He claimed he hadn’t seen her in days and had no idea where she was.
He changed his story as the interrogator pressed him further. After a 12-hour interrogation, he finally admitted to his relationship with Reeves and what he had done to her. He confessed to having strangled her three times before abandoning her to perish outside.
After becoming paralyzed, Ashley Reeves had to relearn a lot: injury photos
After the attack, Reeves had partially lost his memory. She couldn’t stop thinking about their argument that day. It was difficult for her to recover because she had to relearn how to speak, eat and move her limbs.
Her parents had been told by doctors that she would need time to recover and become herself again. Additionally, they said there was a potential that she would not survive.
Ashley was left there for 32 hours after surviving multiple attempts to strangle her to near death. She was taken to a local hospital by paramedics who arrived on the scene, where she was put into an induced coma.
Detectives immediately began searching for the missing teenager after realizing the importance of the first 48 hours. If they hadn’t persuaded Samson to lead them to Ashley, it’s unlikely she would have been found in time.
What happened with Sam Shelton and Ashley Reeves’ marriage story? His condition following the attempted murder
Is Sam Shelton, the teacher, still incarcerated?
Sam Shelton will remain behind bars until 2024. Amazingly, he was placed under house arrest after being released on bail in 2006. Many people at the time did not like how the person who tried to kill a teenager was being treated.
Sam’s mother, Susan, called the police to report that he had attempted suicide by ingesting a combination of several prescription drugs and alcohol just before he was charged with attempted murder in court.
Samson’s mental state was questioned by the judge handling Ashley’s case, but prosecutors argued it was simply a ploy to win the sympathy of potential jurors.
A month later, a psychiatrist concluded that Samson was mentally fit to face a trial. Nonetheless, Ashley’s family chose to accept a plea deal because they didn’t want her to suffer another horrific incident like the one she experienced on April 27. Samson was sentenced to 20 years in prison after accepting the plea deal.
