Body of hero dad pulled from lake weeks after he died saving teen son from drowning

The Italian lake where a British relative perished trying to save his son has finally delivered the remains of the man. Sources say the unfortunate event happened while Aran Chada and his family were on holiday with his 39-year-old girlfriend, Holly Mosley, son Roman, 14, and daughter Floren, 7.

The 51-year-old is said to have dived into the lake to rescue Chada’s teenage son after he got into trouble off the seaside resort of Limone while taking a boat trip with his family on Lake Garda. Although he was able to save Roman, his family watched in terror as he disappeared under the waves on July 22.

The man drowned before his 52nd birthday celebration while in Italy. At the time, a witness said: “He was able to bring the boy back to the boat, where his mother pulled him. But after that, the man disappeared, possibly having had a seizure.

Although Mosley cried out for help shortly after her boyfriend fell, it took more than four weeks for the Coast Guard and specialist dive teams to locate the body. Chada’s bones were recovered from 316 meters below the ocean surface on Tuesday August 16. The search team apparently received assistance from a specialized underwater robot and sonar equipment, and it was eventually discovered that the man’s body was more than half a mile from the bank.

One of three deaths that week on the beautiful lake, which is up to 350 meters deep, was believed to have been Chada. According to Coastguard Commander Antonio Ragadale, who spoke to Mail Online, “We were committed to finding his body so that his family could be reunited with him. It was a difficult and painful search. Since he had been so brave jumping into the lake when he saw his son in danger, it was the least we could do.

His hunt went on day in and day out for over a month, and when we finally found him at a whopping 316 meters deep, it was a really tough operation. We promised to continue for them and we did our job, Ragadale said. “This man was a hero and he can finally be reunited with his family.

According to the BBC, the coastguard also said: “Thanks to the professionalism shown in this context and the equipment provided to them, Lake Garda volunteers were able to locate the body of Mr Chada on Tuesday afternoon 16 August 2022”.

Reports say Chada’s family will return to Italy to identify his body after he flew to Leicestershire. It’s awful, Holly’s brother, James, had told The Sun. It’s unimaginable what my sister and her family are going through.

Chada was the “group sales manager at Global Energy Ventures & GRO Oilfield Alliance,” according to LinkedIn. He attended Ratcliffe College in Leicestershire and Nottingham Trent University.
