As reported by GiantFreakinRobot, Josh Brolin is set to return as Thanos in Avengers: Secret Wars in 2025. It’s still unclear which version of Thanos the actor will play and in what capacity he might return.

Since the events of Loki, variants have become the buzzword, allowing fans to see different versions of the original characters, like the different versions of Loki and He Who Remains. That means we might not see Thanos’ version of End of Gamebut quite different.
Thanos versus Dr. Doom?
Given the established lore in the Secret Wars comics, we can expect Dr. Doom and Thanos to face off in the movies as well. Thanos and his cabal go on a warpath to stop God Doom from remaking the universe in his image after defeating Kang the Conqueror.

Another reason for his return could be the cameo of his brother Starfox played by Harry Styles at the end of Eternals. Even though the Mad Titan hasn’t been confirmed to be an Eternal, which we know from the comics that he is, it could help expand the lore of immortal heroes.
Avengers: Secret Wars is due out in November 2025.
