10 Marvel Characters Who Went Together With The Hulk

Hulk is without a doubt one of the most destructive and badass characters in the Marvel Universe. Many of you may not be able to think of a case where the Hulk lost or was treated fairly.

With all of this down the drain, let’s find out who of Marvel’s endless list has faced the Green Beast.

1. Wolverine

Wolverine has his throne among the most well-known mutants in the X-Men canon and is responsible for leveling the green monster in one of the most painful and violent ways possible. In an alternate timeline, the Hulk is corrupted by a dark future. He orders his henchmen to wipe out the resilient community Logan has built for himself in the trash.

When Logan faced the Hulk head-on in rage, the Hulk devoured him. Logan, however, being the smart type, regenerated into Hulk’s guts and fought his way out, thus defeating the Hulk for good.

2.Thor

There have been many battles between the Great God of Thunder and the Hulk, and almost none of them have resulted in a decisive victory for either character. However, in the 2001 Incredible Hulk, Thor fires a stealthy, powerful bolt of lightning at the back of the Hulk’s skull, knocking the greenish monster utterly insane.

Thor then takes the Hulk’s comatose carcass as a huge green rag doll. Even though Thor’s victory is short-lived as the Hulk wakes up and knocks him out while he’s in midair, I’ll still give Thor the score.

3. Tony Stark aka Iron Man

In the movies, the billionaire playboy and Bruce Banner are drinking buddies who only fought once. However, in the comics, Iron Man and Hulk have often fought, including trying to provide a cure, working together, and dealing with deception.

In Iron Man #132, the hero tries to help Banner recover when the monster breaks out and they have to fight to keep the citizens safe. After luring the Giant into the water, Iron Man unleashes the full power of his armor to knock Hulk across the skull with a concussive punch.

4. Silver Surfer

As far as Marvel characters go, the Silver Surfer is the only one who can consistently knock out Banner’s alter-ego. After the Hulk became heinous in issues #92–93, the Surfer simply knocked him out with his celestial strength and hit the green monster on the head with his surfboard.

In The Incredible Hulk issue #250, the former requested the Hulk’s help in penetrating the force barrier that Galactus had built to confine him to Planet. When the Hulk loses him, the Surfer uses his cosmic powers to quickly and irritably extract the radiation from his system, restoring Bruce Banner’s true self.

5. Otto Octave

Ten dollars says you didn’t know he was on the list. Otto is a fascinating personality because he is so cunning and clever in his ideas. The villain’s ability to defeat the Hulk is shocking, but understandable in the right setting.

In one of his schemes, he attempted to assemble the Sinister Six, and in doing so, he managed to get Spider-Man into endless trouble. Seeing what was happening, The Hulk stepped in to help the wall-crawler out. But Otto had impenetrable armor added to his tentacles, posing a challenge to Banner. Otto’s relentless pounding on the Radioactive Titan with the notorious hard metal Hulk was beaten into submission.

6. Juggernaut

Like Banner, next on our list is a relentless destruction machine, making him a strong contender for the top spot among Marvel heavyweights. Cain Marko’s strength comes from the Crimson Gem, a dark and wicked god of annihilation who is often the target of Marko’s own wrath. They fought several times, each time going back and forth in the score.

At one point, the Hulk fought Juggernaut without realizing it was the latter. Banner felt this guy was easy prey because he wasn’t wearing his usual attire. After an intense body struggle through the jungle, Marko finally strangled him to sleep.

7. Sentinel

Sentry’s debut has been muddled from the start, but one thing is crystal clear that the former has found good company in the green giant, and is often the only one to recognize the hero when no one else does.

There came a point in World War Hulk, where everyone had fallen or been incapacitated by the green giant, and it was concluded that the only way to stop Hulk, whose abilities were infinite, was to bring his best friend. When fighting, they both expend incredible amounts of energy, practically obliterating Manhattan and bringing down entire skyscrapers. After using so much power, the two are reduced to their original forms, with Bruce ending the battle with a weak blow and Robert passing out.

8. Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk

Jennifer Walters is a successful lawyer and the Hulk’s only cousin. In the comics, she becomes She-Hulk after receiving a blood transfusion from his cousin. Given their close proximity, it’s unlikely they ever considered confronting each other physically.

This belief was sorely tested throughout the dark times of World War Hulk when the former slammed his cousin without any forethought. She-Hulk may be MCU’s greatest female superhero, but even she’s no match for the Hulk, who mistakenly granted her superpowers and then rushed off to resume her spree while that She-Hulk was motionless on the ground.

9. Hulk vs. Maestro

In one version, the Hulk loses his mind to radiation poisoning and emotional trauma and becomes the Maestro in an alternate timeline. He directs his rule, forcing his oppressed subjects to rely on old-fashioned tools so he can step forward into the past. After that, a battle between the two Hulks ensues. Young, arrogant, and powerful as the Hulk can be, Maestro predicts his every move, and when the time is right, he sneaks up behind him and snaps the Hulk’s spine.

10. Havoc

A lady named Polaris, one of the X-Men once traveled to 1972 to try to locate fellow X-Men member Havok. The nearby Hulk mistook her for a woman called Janella and grabbed her Kong-style after seeing her green hair.

Havok arrives there to fight, and as the Hulk tears off a piece of the mountain to possibly kill him by crushing him with it, the latter uses his abilities and knocks the green giant unconscious. Without hesitation, the duo abandon the comatose Hulk to the ground. For the Hulk, this was especially humiliating since it happened in one of his own comics.
