‘House Of The Dragon’ Star Steve Toussaint Shuts Down Racist Comments

Dragon HouseCorlys Velaryon actor Steve Toussaint has responded to the racist backlash to his casting in the game of thrones prequel series.

Lord Corlys Velaryon, also known as Sea Snake, is an exorbitant lord of Westeros and the commander of the most powerful navy in the world. Casting Steve Toussaint in the role, while receiving a lot of support from many fans, unfortunately sparked a racist outcry from a few online trolls.

Speaking about the responses his casting has received recently, Toussaint shut down those who chose to attack the casting of a black actor like Corlys Velaryon.

During an interview with Men’s Health, Steve Toussaint spoke about the varied responses he received to his casting as Corlys Velaryon in Dragon House.

Talking about those answers that chose to focus on his ethnicity over everything else in Dragon House and the world of game of thronesToussaint pointed out how ridiculous such reactions really are:

“It seems to be very hard for people to swallow…they are happy for a dragon to fly. They’re happy with white hair and purple eyes, but a rich black guy? It is beyond pallor.

Toussaint also points out that “historically, people of my color and yours, we didn’t get here in the 70s or 60s”, noting how absurd such criticisms of historical television series are, not to mention a series as overtly fantastic as Dragon House.

Elsewhere in the interview, Steve Toussaint also noted the overwhelming positive response he received from fans and other actors appearing in Dragon House:

“What’s been wonderful is that for every toxic person who somehow ended up on my timeline, there were so many others who were so supportive and supportive of me. said, ‘Oh my god, I can’t wait, this is going to be awesome!’

“Even when we were doing certain scenes, there were supporting artists coming and going, ‘It’s great to have this performance.'”

It is disappointing to see such reactions still emerging in the face of black actors chosen in series like Dragon House. However, it seems more and more of the bias is being brought under control by the positive reaction from true fans who are excited to see characters like Corlys Velaryon in action.
