Gothic director Tim Burton Edward Scissorhands is a film for the ages and is particularly remembered for Johnny Depp’s performance as Edward Scissorhands himself. Alongside Depp, Winona Ryder, who plays Kim Boggs in the film, and the pairing of the two really paved the way for the success of the cult classic.
Now that the dust has settled and Depp’s performance as the title character is in everyone’s mind, did you know he wasn’t even supposed to play the title role at all? There was another very well-known actor long before Depp was considered for the role, but the Pirates of the Caribbean the actor simply snatched it away from him.

From Willy Wonka and Edward Scissorhands to Jack Sparrow, he’s an incredible actor. But the iconic actor didn’t care much about his wallet at the time and was just behind rising star Tom Cruise for a role in the Tim Burton classic.
Fortunately, for Depp, Cruise sought out the role offered to him and simply rejected it, believing that Edward Scissorhands was an “ugly” film. So, Depp got the part, and from there, it’s just history.

The new game from Mosasaur Studio, sea of dawn is an upcoming MMORPG adventure game that will be released on mobile and PC platforms. With good funding to back it up, it recently released a new trailer for the game, starring Depp!

Depp’s appearance in the game’s new trailer for sea of dawn saw him lose himself completely in the role, as he always did in the many cult classic movies he starred in. Check it out below.
The 59-year-old actor also has a new movie in the works that he will star in. Maïwenn’s upcoming new drama, The Favourite, will see Depp’s depiction of French King Louis XV, the King of France in the 18th century.
film for The Favorite will start somewhere this summer, and the film should be distributed by Netflix, however, in France only from now on.
