The Lawyer Episode 2 Review

The second episode of She-Hulk was released today. Here is a brief overview of everything that happened there.

Jen loses her job

She Hulk episode 2, Jen is looking for a job

The episode begins with the media covering She-Hulk’s court appearance to arrest Titania. Everyone celebrates her as a heroine. Jen, however, isn’t very enthusiastic about any of this and especially not about her name. She and her paralegal go to a bar where people celebrate and cheer her on. This is where her boss informs her that she lost the case she was leading in court that day. The firm GLK and H successfully declared the case a mistrial due to She-Hulk influencing the jury with her actions. This leads to her getting fired as she becomes a liability for the DA’s office. She looks for a job everywhere but gets turned down due to her new superpowers.

family dinner

Jen has to go to a family dinner right after being fired. This part serves mostly as comic relief and how people treat her differently now that she’s the Hulk. We meet his kind and caring father and mother. During dinner everyone keeps talking to her about superheroes and the fact that she is She-Hulk. Afterwards, she has a real conversation with her father which makes her realize that she will be fine and that she did the right thing.

Hired by GLK and H

She-Hulk at her new job

Holden Holliway, senior partner at GLK and H, offers Jen a job at his firm as he is impressed with her abilities as a lawyer. However, on day one, it is revealed that she will be leading the company’s new superhero division as She-Hulk instead of Jen Walters. His very first case is that of Emil Blonsky aka the Abomination. She understandably feels uncomfortable taking on the case as Abomination attempts to kill her cousin, Bruce. But she was given an ultimatum to take the deal or quit the job.

Meet the abomination

Jen meets Emil Blonsky and after talking to him, she decides to take on the case. She even talks to bruce about it and obtains his approval. However, the episode ends with a twist when Jen discovers that Emil may not be as reformed as he claimed. He apparently escaped from prison and was seen in a fight ring.

The post credits were just Jen helping her family with menial chores that require her superhuman strength. The episode definitely felt like filler and didn’t do much more than set up future episodes.
