She-Hulk has been praised for reuniting fans with old favorites, but the miniseries has also added new superheroes and villains to the MCU. Among them are Jameela Jamil’s antagonist, Titania, as well as Tatiana Maslany’s protagonist, Jennifer Walters, aks She-Hulk, however, the series also brings several lesser-known comic book characters to life. In the third episode of She-Hulkthe Wrecking Crew is introduced and Jennifer quickly dispatches them.
Four guys, each with different colored weaponry, assault Jen in the final moments of the most recent episode. They use a set of gauntlets, headgear, a crowbar, as well as a ball and chain. After Jen becomes She-Hulk, the foursome are eventually defeated and hunted, but not before we find out one of them is called “Thunderball”, revealing it to be the Wrecking Crew, made up of Bulldozer, Thunderball, Wrecker and Piledriver.
Who are these guys?
Dirk Garthwaite (Wrecker), Henry Camp (Bulldozer I), Brian Phillip Calusky (Piledriver) and Dr. Eliot Franklin (Thunderball) form the infamous Wrecking Crew. They formed the Wrecking Crew from an agreement between them while in prison. Garthwaite is the initiator and commander of the team. He is known by his nickname, the Wrecker, for wreaking havoc on a crime scene by smashing up evidence with a crowbar.
In the comics, during a bloody rampage, he runs over Loki, who has had his abilities momentarily taken away by Odin. The God of Mischief wants them back and pursues the Norn Queen, Karnilla, to return them to him. As Karnilla intended to bestow her mystical abilities on Loki, she inadvertently bestowed them on the Wrecker after stealing Loki’s spiked helmet. Because of this, Wrecker is blessed with incredible muscle power and a crowbar that can’t be broken in any way.
But the Asgardians are strong enough to put him away for good. There he can retrieve his enchanted crowbar. He calls Camp, Calusky, and Dr. Franklin to bear arms during a thunderstorm. When Wrecker’s crowbar is struck by lightning, its enchantment spreads to other weapons in the room. The camp transforms into Bulldozer I, whose unique weapon is a helmet he can use to smash his enemies.
Calusky transforms into Piledriver and gets Power Joints. In the meantime, Dr. Franklin transforms into Thunderball, complete with a chained wrecking ball. Using their unexpected abilities, the group escapes from prison and goes in search of a gamma weapon developed by Thunderball. Despite their quick loss, the villainous group continues to act in concert.
What do they do in She-Hulk? Why do they want Jen’s blood?
She-Hulk gives the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the Wrecking Crew, complete with Asgardian-built weaponry. Each character still has abilities associated with various construction and destruction tools, so the redesign stays true to the comics in that regard.
Although they aren’t referred to by name, it’s obvious that Marvel intended this group to be SheHulk’s -Wrecking Crew thanks to the “W” emblems on their jerseys, the weapons, and the fact that one of them is. call Thunderball. Therefore, Piledriver, Wrecker, and Bulldozer are undoubtedly the other three males trying to fight She-Hulk and, apparently, are part of her DNA.
While She-Hulk’s quick victory over the Wrecking Crew isn’t shocking, episode 3 of the series hinted at a cliffhanger involving the group. Whoever calls the shots won’t be pleased to learn that his minions couldn’t get She-Hulk’s DNA.
The third episode of She-Hulk fails to shed any light on the identity of the enemy or their possible motivations for wanting Jennifer Walters DNA, when the clear goal is the creation of more Hulks. This opens up many possibilities as to who the leader of the She-Wrecking Hulk crew is. It could be the Leader, Kingpin, Valentina, or whatever! Do you have any guesses?
However, the person who hired Wrecking Crew might be someone new to the miniseries or the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general that fans haven’t yet met. This could be one of many minor Marvel characters that have been teased for future episodes. Even though it’s become a terrible habit for Marvel’s Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law could extend the unveiling of the Wrecking Crew’s commander for weeks.
