The Collector’s Museum is located on the planet Knowhere. He was depicted in the MCU during Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1 and Infinity Wars. The collector has acquired many valuable valuables over the years and kept them in his museum. Let’s explore some of the interesting items in the MCU’s Collectors’ Museum.
1. Amphibian Alien
This amphibian alien was seen in the MCU during the post-credits scene of Thor: Dark World. Taneleer Tivan touched the amphibian’s hand through the window. He has orange skin and webbed feet.
2. Birth pods
The Collector’s Museum houses a birth capsule of The Sovereign. It was seen in the MCU during Thor 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1. In fact, the Birth Pod was used by Ayesha of the Sovereign to create Adam Warlock and all other citizens of the planet.
3. Howard the Duck
An alien anthropomorphic duck, Howard the Duck was a resident of the Collector’s Museum. In fact, Howard was seen in the MCU during Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1. That’s when the Guardians took the Orb to the Collector’s Museum and Carina tried to use its power but blew it all up. Howard also returned during the final battle against Thanos during the events of Endgame.
4. Giant Butterfly
The giant butterfly was a species of large blue butterflies that the collector had managed to get his hands on. Additionally, we saw it in the MCU during the post-credits scene of Thor: The Dark World when Sif and Volstagg went to give the Ether to the Collector for safekeeping.
5. Embers of Genesis
The Embers of Genesis are nutrient-rich interstellar dust from an ancient supernova. Additionally, it has the power to terraform entire ecosystems and heal dying planets. It is another artifact present in the collector’s museum. In fact, it is seen in the MCU during the TV show What if…? in the episode “What If T’Challa Becomes a Star-Lord?”
6. Dark Matter Dagger
This dagger was also seen during “What If T’Challa Becomes a Star-Lord?” It was a dagger formed from dark matter that was wielded by the Lord of the Dark Elves himself, Malekith the Accursed. It was present in the Collectors’ Museum and was even used by Tivan against T’Challa. It is an extremely powerful weapon that can pierce Asgardian armor and even a Kronan’s arm. As seen during the events of Thor 2, the dagger can also be extended and tuned to a sword.
7. Cosmos
Also known as Cosmo the space dog, she was a Labrador dog sent into space during the Soviet space program. She then became a resident of the Collectors’ Museum. This doggo even had a one-on-one with Rocket Racoon during Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1. After Carina tried to wield the Power Stone, the whole museum blew up. During a post-credits scene, we see the aftermath of this event where Cosmo breaks out of his confinement and goes ahead and licks Taneleer Tivan’s face.
8. Slugs
These tiny, wriggling creatures were kept as specimens in the Collectors’ Museum. In fact, they can be seen in the MCU during Watchmen vol 1.
9. Hela’s Helmet
Hela’s helmet was worn by her during her conquests with Odin, and again after her rebirth in Thor: Ragnarok. This helmet was an exhibit at the Collectors Museum in an alternate universe. In fact, he’s shown in the MCU during “What If T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?” During the episode, Tivan used the helmet during his confrontation against T’Challa until Yondu Udonta knocked it off his head using his Yaka Arrow.
10. Quantum Vehicle
The Quantum Vehicle was used by Hank Pym to rescue Janet Van Dyne. Basically, it’s a vehicle that was built specifically for traveling in the Quantum Realm. It was used extensively in the MCU during Ant-Man and the Wasp. In an alternate reality, the Quantum Vehicle was present in the Collectors Museum. This was seen during “What If T’Challa Becomes a Star-Lord?”
During the episode of What If…? many other exhibits have been seen in the museum, such as the Mjolnir, Loki’s Blades, Captain America’s Shield, and even the Eye of Agamotto. This shows that Taneleer Tivan is truly a resourceful man.
