Daredevil is set to mark his MCU appearance again with an appearance in She-Hulk. The last time he was spotted in Spider-Man: No Coming Home where he helped Peter Parker with his legal battle. While he’s set to reappear in the ongoing Disney+ series, Charlie Cox has opened up about how his character is going to undergo a major change in the MCU. He revealed that his character theme will be toned down and will be much lighter than the Netflix version.
Daredevil’s appearance in the She-Hulk universe sporting the comic book-accurate yellow and red costume had already gotten fans excited. But now, with the news of the change in tone, audiences seem to have some concerns about her portrayal in the MCU.

It’s a completely different Daredevil
Although each of us remembers that Matt Murdock aka Daredevil was a deadly and ruthless superhero from his action in the Netflix series, MCU is a whole different matter. MCU is often criticized for having a very clean and strawberry approach, which is the main reason why fans are worried.
Speaking to Variety, Charlie Cox revealed that his role in She-Hulk: Lawyer will show a different version of his character. According to him, this is mainly due to the contrasting tone of his former show and the She-Hulk series.
“What was really fun about being on She-Hulk, for this episode, is that the tone of this show is obviously drastically different. And for my character to be…appropriate for me to be on this show”
Charlie Cox confessed that this version of Matt Murdock was going to be flirtatious and fun:
“I had to adapt my Matt Murdock a bit, so that he’s at a time in his life where he’s having fun and life is good and he’s a little cheeky and a little flirty, and that’s just, tonally, slightly different. And it was a bit of an experience, but it was really nice and I really had a good time.
Matt Murdock’s arrival in Tatiana Maslany’s star series is widely anticipated by fans. Some rumors also suggest that Jennifer Walters might be romantically involved with Daredevil. It will undoubtedly be a new experience as we will spot the character in a totally different avatar. I just hope it’s a good transition and a good experience watching a flirtatious Matt Murdock for the first time.

Will the change in tone also affect Daredevil’s solo series?
Next She-Hulk and EchoDaredevil will get his full solo series titled Daredevil: Born Again. As speculation is high from the show, the actor was asked if the tonal transformation will also affect his solo streak. To this he replied that it would involve to some degree what we called the classic MCU approach but not completely:
“I don’t think it would work, not in our whole season. Not with this character. I don’t think it’s necessarily truthful enough to the source material for it to really work.
This marked a sigh of relief for fans. It would be commendable if this series took a detour from the usual MCU route, as promised. A series like Daredevil looks best in its usual raw, gritty theme.

However, the next episodes of She-Hulk are widely expected as we have yet to figure out what the new character trait really looks like on Daredevil.
