Daemon’s Corrupt Plan
House of the Dragon Episode 4 is out and it starts with Rhaenyra choosing her hand from a list of worthy individuals. Later, we see Daemon visiting King’s Landing to apologize and be part of the kingdom again.
But little did people know he was there to leave an even darker strike on the throne. His return and his apology were not his good will but a political game plan. Rhaenyra is the heir to the Iron Throne, and marrying her will eventually turn things around for Daemon.
Daemon’s plan to win the Iron Throne
It was inappropriate to suggest marrying Rhaenyra without any context. So he lured her to wander the realm, beyond the dungeon walls, where she does not belong. She was guided to the brothel or a pleasure house where we saw Daemon trying to meddle with Rhaenyra’s virginity.
Although Rhaenyra and Daemon didn’t break boundaries, some things happened between them that were inappropriate. And Rhaenyra was guilty about it but lied. She then had sex with Ser Criston Cole, which was again inappropriate.
The femininity in her just showed up and she made some mistakes. But Daemon used it to his advantage. When the king confronted him, he asked Viserys to marry Rhaenyra to him. And Viserys said to him, “It’s not only my daughter you covet, but also my throne!”
And that’s exactly why he came back! But, King didn’t behead him for the sin and asked him to leave King’s Landing immediately.
The spread of rumor
The rumor spread like fire and Rhaenyra was about to be judged. The episode ended with Otto Hightower being pulled from office for making poor judgments. Since Rhaenyra didn’t lose her virginity to Daemon, Otto Hightower made some crude accusations.
He probably also wanted Rhaenyra to be recalled as heir to the Iron Throne, and Aegon would then be the rightful king.
Being the heir to the most powerful throne put targets on her back. And that’s just the beginning with Daemon’s corrupt idea and Otto’s desperation for Aegon to be king.
