Yennefer and Geralt
The Butcher of Blaviken is back!!!
Yes, the filming of the third season of the highly anticipated Witcher series is finally over. The Witcher started filming Season 3 in March, so it’s been a while to get here. In July, actor Henry Cavill had to take time off from work due to Covid, although his injury from filming Season 2 was more serious and required more time off.
Nope! it’s not just a rumor as the source of the information is none other than Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who also happens to be the director of the Netflix series Witcher.
After filming wrapped, Hissrich posted some photos of a happy crew on Instagram. Hissrich finished with a photo of a full wine glass and the word “WRAP” in the caption.
The Witcher’s third season will be based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s best-selling Time of Contempt.
As production began for the next season, Netflix released a description suggesting that Ciri will be pursued by a variety of groups, involving elves, magicians, and the creatures of the continent.
Yennefer plans to continue Princess Cintran’s magical training by taking her to Aretuza, where the two will inevitably become entangled in a web of political maneuvering and corruption that is both magical and chaotic.
The official description released by the streaming giant reads-
“As monarchs, mages, and beasts across the continent vie to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra underground, determined to protect her newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy her.
Charged with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to learn more about the girl’s untapped powers. instead, they find they’ve landed on a battleground of political corruption, dark magic, and betrayal. They must fight back, put it all on the line – or risk losing themselves forever.
We currently don’t have a confirmed premiere date for The Witcher Season 3, but the miniseries is slated for release next year.
