Agents Of SHIELD’s J. August Richards Open To MCU Return As Deathlok

J. August Richards, who previously appeared in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD as Mike Peterson/Deathlok, suggested he would be open to bringing the character back to the MCU.

Richards’ Mike Peterson first appeared in the very first episode of Agents of SHIELD, before later being transformed into the cybernetic Deathlok. He would go on to appear multiple times throughout the series, serving as both an enemy and ally to Phil Coulson and his agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

With several characters from various Marvel television properties now making their way into the mainline MCU, J. August Richards has spoken of the possibility of reprising the role of Deathlok.

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, J. August Richards discussed the possibility of a return to the MCU and offered some hope for a Deathlok return.

When asked if he would consider reprising his Marvel role, Richards confirmed he would be open to the possibility, saying he would never consider himself “officially done with” a character he’s ever played. . Looks like if Marvel calls, he’d be willing to bring Deathlok back.

J. August Richards said of a potential Deathlok return:

“I’m so connected to the characters I play. Without sounding cliché or anything, I’ve never really given up on a character I play because I put so much time and effort and energy into it like I did with Victor. [Dashkov, in Peacock’s Vampire Academy]. No character I’ve ever played is ever… am I ever officially done with.

Recently, Anson Mount entered the mainstream MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhere he reprized the role of Black Bolt from the short-lived television series Inhumans. Meanwhile, Charlie Cox reprized the role of Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Coming Home and is set to play the character again in several upcoming MCU projects.
