Neale Daniher was born Neale Francis Daniher on February 15, 1961 in West Wyalong, New South Wales, Australia, the third born to his parents.

He was the youngest of a family of six. Daniher, the third child of James “Jim” Daniher and Edna Daniher, received his primary education at St. Joseph Catholic School in Ungarie.

He then joined St. Patrick’s College in Goulburn and Assumption College in Kilmore, where he completed his final year. The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University is where he next went to study the new technology that was being developed in the 1980s.

Growing up and participating in the Northern Riverina Football League (NRFL), Daniher first showed his passion for sports, especially Australian rules football. Daniher and his three brothers played for the same team for New South Wales in a single VFL/AFL game on 1 September 1990, making them the first four brothers to do so.
