When Kym Brown-Hunter started dating Jerold Dunning, things seemed to look up for her; it seemed like he was taking on the role of a father figure to their daughter, Jaime Brown. Who is Jerold Dunning?
When Kym Brown-Hunter first came into contact with Jerold Dunning, he was a friend of her then-husband, who was also her current spouse. During this period, she and Jaime resided on a yacht with her husband. However, after a few years of marriage, they decided to divorce, and Jerold was there for Kym during this difficult time. After dating for about five months, Kym and Jaime decided to move in with him. The couple previously lived separately. Meanwhile, Jerold’s profession was that of an Object() { function [native code] } of luxury boats, while that of Kym was that of a private detective.
Then, in October 1998, Kym received a phone call from Jaime’s educational institution. The girl, who was 12 at the time, accused Jerold of sexually assaulting her. Jaime claimed that Jerold stripped and touched her while she was still wearing her clothes when she was ten years old working on her anatomy homework. Jerold wore shorts at the time. It was alleged that Jerold had maintained the same behavior for over two years. According to the show, another of Jaime’s friends was distressed as they spent a sleepover together. She claimed Jerold was in the bedroom with her alone when he started tickling her, then grabbed her underwear before pinning her to the mattress. When Jaime entered the room, the friend managed to break free and run away. As soon as Kym found out about the charges, she packed her bags with her daughter and moved in with her brother. At the time, Jerold was away on a trip, so Kym found herself alone with her daughter.
After authorities got involved, Kim was ordered to phone Jerold in an effort to coerce him into confessing to the actions for which he was accused. During that phone call, he offered her money and claimed responsibility for some of the actions. Kym agreed to meet, but it turned out that the authorities were waiting for him. Jerold was taken into custody but later released after posting bond. However, when the time for his trial in January 1999 arrived, he was nowhere to be found and did not show up.

Where is Jerold Dunning today?
Kym had the idea that Jerold might be in the same place as his mother, Camden. She then traveled to Maryville, Tennessee after posting bail. There, Kym discovered that someone named CJ Dunning had rented an apartment. Neighbors who knew Jerold reported that they heard him refer to himself as Chester, which is his middle name. According to reports, Jerold was working as a driver for a seafood delivery service. After that the FBI got involved and in 2004 they charged him with unauthorized theft in an attempt to avoid prosecution.
However, according to the episode, authorities suspected that Jerold had been tipped off by someone because he had already left Maryville by the time federal officials arrived. Since then, law enforcement officials have not given up their search, although he continues to elude capture. According to the episode, Jerold, who is around 63 at this point, might be hiding out in the Caribbean islands and working on boats. Officials are also looking in Mexico and Brazil for possible locations for him. Kevin, Jerold’s brother, said in 2012 that it was possible Jerold was in the US Virgin Islands.
