On September 21, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, a highly anticipated crime drama series, will finally be available to stream on Netflix. It tells the horrific true story of one of America’s most prominent serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer, and the horrific murders he committed between the years of 1978 and 1991. In 1991, after s being delivered to a murderous rampage that spanned over a decade, Jeffrey Dahmer was eventually apprehended and arrested for his crimes. He was convicted of 16 counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison on each count, but was later beaten to death by a fellow inmate. But what about those close to Dahmer? Jeffrey Dahmer
Jeffrey Dahmer had an upbringing that can be described as difficult. Because his parents had such lingering problems in their marriage, Dahmer was left with a sense of abandonment and isolation. His mother, Joyce, struggled with periods of depression while his father, Lionel Dahmer, was away from home for a significant part of his life. Even an elementary school teacher in Dahmer observed how much he had changed over the years. The abandonment signals began to show in her behavior. The following year, 1966, Joyce gave birth to David Dahmer, who was Dahmer’s younger brother. He was even allowed to choose the name for him, but as Dahmer realized that their parents loved and cared more about their older brother than him, their relationship took a decidedly negative turn.
Following the dissolution of his parents’ marriage, Dahmer made the decision to reside with his father, while his mother and younger brother moved to Wisconsin to be closer to his mother’s family. In a relatively short time after that, Dahmer committed his first gruesome murder.
The lives of Dahmer’s family members were irrevocably changed after he was found guilty of murdering 17 young men and boys and dismembering their bodies. They were subject to continuous harassment and some family members even moved in an effort to put the incident in the past. Where is Jeffrey Dahmer’s family right now?

What happened to Jeffrey Dahmer’s father?
Lionel Dahmer and his new wife Shari regularly visited Jeffrey Dahmer while he was serving his sentence in prison. Jeffrey Dahmer died in 1994. Lionel even wrote a book called A Father’s Story, in which he describes his outlook on Jeffrey’s life and what it was like to be the father of a notorious serial killer. In this book, Lionel offers his version of Jeffrey’s story. After conducting an investigation, it seems that Lionel Dahmer is still around in 2022. However, it is not known for sure.
In an interview Lionel gave to People in 1994, Lionel reportedly mentioned how Jeffrey’s grandmother was afraid to leave her house due to the persistent harassment she received from reporters sitting outside her house. Due to the horrific atrocities committed by Jeffrey, his grandmother was forced to spend the majority of the rest of her life in constant fear until her death in 1992.

What happened to Joyce Flint?
According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Joyce moved to Fresno, California shortly before Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested by authorities. Prior to beginning her role as a case manager for the Central Valley AIDS team, she was a manager of a retirement community there. She remained active in the field of HIV and AIDS care until her death in 2000. According to an interview Joyce gave to Hard Copy, Joyce maintained weekly contact with Jeffrey while he was behind the bars by calling him on Sunday evening. . Joyce also mentioned that while Jeffrey was incarcerated, she visited him at least once.

What happened to David Dahmer?
After David Dahmer graduated from the University of Cincinnati, he took on a new identity, changed his name, and disappeared. Since then, neither his whereabouts nor his name have been reported. David completely dissociated himself from his older brother and his horrific actions, and he did not participate in any interviews concerning his brother. In the year 2022, it is unknown if David is still alive.

DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story offers a new perspective on the Jeffrey Dahmer case by recounting the events of the case from Dahmer’s perspective. The book shows how Dahmer was able to avoid capture on numerous occasions due to racial bias among law enforcement officials. In 1991, a 14-year-old Laotian boy escaped from Jeffrey Dahmer’s residence, but police returned the frightened child to Dahmer after he claimed they were a quarrelsome couple. This is just one example of how the police failed to do their job properly. After killing the youth, Dahmer violated his body in several ways. After being found guilty, he said, “I made my dream life more powerful than the real one.” He was sentenced to sixteen consecutive lives in prison for his crimes.
