Following the cancellation of the Constantine rebooting the series, it looks like HBO Max isn’t done with Neil Gaiman’s characters and stories. Shortly after the cancellation announcement, HBO Max announced a new show titled Dead Boy Detectives.
The show is also a supernatural thriller and throws a Euphoria star in one of the main roles of the series.

Lukas Gage joins the cast of Dead Boy Detectives
The series, announced in April, found Lukas Gage playing a major role. According to sources at Variety, it looks like the actor will be playing the role of Cat King, who is a cat spirit with an interest in Edwin Payne (played by George Rexstrew). Lukas Gage is best known for starring in the HBO Max drama Euphoria.

The series will deal with two dead boys who refuse to enter Heaven and stay on Earth as restless spirits and be… spirit agents. The series is another supernatural thriller from writer Neil Gaiman and visual artist Matt Wagner.

Although the decision was made by the new CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav, HBO Max also faced heat for allegedly supporting racism by canceling the Constantine restart of the series. The decision came when Keanu Reeves announced his return for the Constantine (2005) sequel in which the hero originally starred.
There have been no further details regarding the release date of the series except for the studio behind which is none other than Warner Bros. Based on the series’ previous releases, the series will likely hit HBO Max’s digital shelves in due course.
