Green was born in Perth, Western Australia on December 20, 1996. Her introduction to golf came from her father, Tau, who was also a renowned golfer in his day. As a result, she started playing golf at a young age. She attended Como Secondary College and participated in the golf academy there regarding her education. Hannah started playing golf in 2012, competing in the Newman and Brooks Junior Championship.

At the 2015 New Zealand Open, she took on Lydia Ko, the top-ranked professional golfer, and quickly gained notoriety. Green began her professional career in 2016. She competed on the Symetra Tour in 2017, earning three wins, placing second overall in earnings and winning Rookie of the Year. As a result, she earned a spot on the 2018 LPGA Tour. Green’s best performance came in third place at the 2018 ISPS Handa Women’s.

Green won the Cambia Portland Classic on September 1 for her second victory on the LPGA Tour, and in December she received the Greg Norman Medal. She and Australian rules football star Nat Fyfe shared Western Australia’s 2019 Sports Star of the Year award in February 2020.

Along with Minjee Lee, Green represented Australia in the women’s golf competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She finished fifth with a total of 13 points over four sets. She was unable to win the medal for her country, but the exposure and experience she gained throughout the competition benefited her later in life.

She started her 2022 campaign by competing in the HSBC Women’s Champions in March. She was placed 6th in this tournament, while Ko Jin-young won the $1,500,000 prize after finishing first. She is currently ranked 17th in the LPGA standings.
