James Cameron’s Avatar Earns Nearly $900K On International Re-Release

-

by James Cameron Avatar has already earned nearly $900,000 on its re-release in international markets.

In 2009, James Cameron’s Avatar hit theaters and made history. While some questioned the quality of the plot and story, the film went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time. Through a number of releases, the film has retained that title, even against box office juggernauts like Avengers: Endgame. Now, finally, a sequel is set to hit theaters later this year. Before that happens, however, Disney is letting audiences experience the world of Pandora all over again in theaters.

Earlier this year it was revealed that Avatar will hit theaters again before its sequel Avatar: The Way of Water hits theaters in December. The film has already made waves with nearly $900,000 in various international markets. These markets include France, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Belgium and the Philippines. The film also opened in Mexico, Brazil, Italy and Germany today and will be in theaters in the United States on Friday.

Here is the synopsis of the next film in the franchise, Avatar: The Way of the Water:

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of the Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the troubles that follow them, the the lengths they go to protect each other, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

Directed by James Cameron from a script he co-wrote with Josh Friedman, the sequel stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco , Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Winslet.

Avatar: The Way of the Water hits theaters on December 16, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the franchise and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
