She-Hulk Marks The Second Time Intelligencia Has Been Teased In the MCU

-

Episode 6 of She-Hulk: Lawyer dropped a reference to the Marvel Villains team Intelligencia, but this isn’t the first time the sinister group has been mentioned in the MCU.

It looks like Marvel Studios is gearing up to introduce Intelligencia, a collective of Earth’s most devious evil geniuses, in their latest Disney Plus series. She-Hulk. In the comics, band members have included MODOK, the leader, and Ulysses Klaue.

MODOK and the Leader are set to make their MCU debuts soon, but Ulysses Klaue has already appeared onscreen and his Intelligencia membership has been subtly confirmed.

Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaue first appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron and it was during this film that the MCU’s first mention of Intelligencia was made, seven years before the group’s name returned to She-Hulk: Lawyer.

While tracking down Ultron, the Avengers stumble upon their case on Ulysses Klaue. The document lists Klaue’s affiliation as a “former member of the Intelligencia”. Whereas She-Hulk reinvented Intelligencia as a forum for misogynistic trolls, it seems the organization had a more sinister start in the MCU.

Given the band’s comic book history, as well as Ulysses Klaue’s history with them in the MCU, it’s likely there’s more to She-HulkIntelligencia’s website than it looks. With a mysterious user of the site, called “HulkKing”, coming after the blood of She-Hulk, it seems that the Intelligencia website is a platform for something far more menacing than troll comments.

Tim Blake’s leader Nelson, who has always been an enemy of the Hulk, is set to return to the MCU – taking on the villainous moniker of leader for the first time – in 2024. Captain America: New World Order. As a member of Intelligencia in the comics, could the villain appear in She-Hulk: Lawyer first?

Here is the synopsis of She-Hulk: Lawyer:

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single 30-something lawyer who also happens to be a 6-foot-7 green superpowered hulk.

Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Lawyer stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Benedict Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
