The release of Olivia Wilde don’t worry darling has been plagued by drama surrounding the film’s director as well as its main stars Harry Styles, Florence Pugh and now fired Shia LaBeouf. The movie, however, is finally out today after all these months of drama.
Wilde’s new psychological thriller has had its ups and downs, and fans aren’t too happy with the lows. Fans lambasted Wilde for her affair-turned-relationship with her film’s lead actor Harry Styles, as well as her treatment of Shia LaBeouf, and Pugh’s minimal effort on the promotional side doesn’t help either. However, the film was impressive on the big screens.

Don’t worry, Darling had an impressive debut in theaters
Don’t worry Sweetheart is finally out and while the drama surrounding the film’s production and release has been lousy, the review has been lousier. The film currently holds a 6.1/10 rating on IMDb, a 48% rating on Metacritic, and a 36% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Olivia Wilde’s film has also been heavily criticized for being derivative of works that have already told the story the film is trying to tell its audience, critics have spared no words either, with some calling it a repetitive and boring.

But the review of a film alone does not define its success. don’t worry darling got off to a strong start on its first day of release, starting with a $3.1 million opening today. Impressive day one earnings put it above the ranks of movies like Where the Crawdads sing ($2.3M) and The female king ($1.7M).
The film will now be aiming for a $20 million opening week, and if it continues like this, it may be able to recoup the $30 million budget it received for filming.
Has drama surrounded the film’s director and her cast strained the relationship between them all? It’s unclear, but his trading performance has been the bomb, and he plans to keep earning more in the following days.

Anne Twist, the 54-year-old mother of former One Direction pop star Harry Styles, hasn’t taken the insults and criticism aimed at her son and the film very well in recent weeks.

His contempt for those who hate don’t worry darling led her to post a story on her Instagram account, in which she simply asked the haters to leave if they didn’t like it. In the story, Twist typed this-
If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. I’m amazed and saddened by the vitriolic comments here to be honest. I enjoyed a movie. If this isn’t your cup of tea, don’t go… If you don’t like me.. please don’t follow me. Simple.”
Twist’s latest Instagram story was long overdue, as it had been getting negative comments about the movies for some time now. And what mother wouldn’t protect her son, no matter what we think of him?
