Cobra Kai Season 5 was another banger for the Netflix series as it not only introduced a new antagonist played by Alicia Hannah-Kim with the role of Kim Da-Eun as well as the story progressing more and more.
Kim Da-Eun, a character who debuts in the show’s final season, is the granddaughter of Kim Sun-Yung, who is the trainer of none other than Cobra Kai founders John Kreese and Terry Silver. . While the show’s creators say the show will continue even though Netflix has yet to greenlight a season 6, Alicia Hannah-Kim sees a possible future for her character.

Kim Da-Eun’s Legacy
Kim Da-Eun was hired as a sensei in the Cobra Kai dojo to continue her grandfather’s legacy by Terry Silver. Alicia Hannah-Kim says her character still has a lot more to offer and even more tricks up her sleeve.
“I hope we continue what we started in Season 5 on Cobra Kai…I think they’ve opened a Pandora’s box with Kim Da-Eun.”
Hannah-Kim believes the darker tones newly introduced to the show’s story would create more room for her character to be explored further, as she states that the character’s antagonistic personality and her goal of world domination to pursue the his family’s legacy will continue.

Cobra Kai’s Future Keeps Growing
Co-creator Josh Heald previously said Season 5 would not be the end of Cobra Kai. Having already filmed two seasons in a year, Heald says the vision that’s been set for the series is far more advanced than what audiences first saw.
“Season 5 is another huge season with lots of new flavors and lots of things you haven’t seen on the show yet. And it’s not the end.
May 2018 saw the premiere of Cobra Kai not on Netflix, but on YouTube Premium. For being later picked up by Netflix, a show 34 years apart from the original Karate Kid. Now the Karate Kid The feature is set to hit theaters in 2024, being the series’ first big-screen premiere since 2010. However, the team of Cobra Kai remains uninvolved with this project, it’s safe to say that the show in general would see several seasons in the works.
Introducing a character as sinister as Kim Da-Eun, fans themselves seem excited to see what else the show has to offer.
