House of the Dragon introduced us to a lot of characters and they are still adding new ones. The show must have characters who will defy all moral principles and etiquette and put themselves in the shoes of the big bad. After all, fans need someone to hate. In Game of Thrones too, there were a bunch of characters that made fans want to tear their hair out. So let’s explore which House of the Dragon characters the fans love to hate.

1. Alicent Hightower

Queen Alicent is one of the most hated characters in House of the Dragon. Olivia Cooke portrayed Alicent so well that people on Twitter can’t help but rage after just one episode. She shows absolutely no kindness or warmth towards The Children of Rhaenyra although they are small children. Plus, she pretty much grooms Aegon and forges a hatred for his nephews in him. In House of the Dragon episode 6, she tells Aegon or rather yells at him that the boys of Rhaenyra will one day be there to catch her and eliminate her from the path of succession. Alicent is also rather cunning as she lets Lord Larys do his dirty work and bets on plausible deniability herself.

2. Ser Criston Cole

He’s a character who went from being one of the most beloved to absolutely hated in House of the Dragon. I mean he killed a completely innocent guy. Nothing can justify this. Additionally, he has become quite ruthless and ruthless in his ways. We see him ignoring the children of Rhaenyra and pushing Jacaerys around. His noble and benevolent nature disappeared. Twitterati seems to dread every time Criston Cole opens his mouth in House of the Dragon.

3. Lord Larys Strong

Lord Larys Strong is not only hated by fans, but feared as well. Her actions in House of the Dragon episode 6 left fans horrified and disgusted. Some even theorize that Alicent herself seems to be afraid of Lord Larys. Who wouldn’t be afraid of a guy who can kill his family like that? Although fans hate him, they also look forward to him in every episode to see what else he does.

4. Ser Otto Hightower

Otto Hightower is hated by fans, but he may have diminished a bit with the emergence of all these new villainous characters. Ser Otto was obviously manipulative and repeatedly targeted members of the Targaryen family such as Daemon and Rhaenyra. While its actions pale in comparison to others on the list, Twitterati definitely doesn’t!

5. Aemond Targaryen

While Aemond Targaryen is still just a kid, fans are getting ready to hate him after seeing the many teasers. Most fans also know exactly how vile and sadistic this character will become. He’s the poster of the characters you love to hate. We won’t give away too many spoilers on the dastardly things he does, you’ll just have to wait and watch!

6. Aegon II Targaryen

At this point, Aegon is pretty much a normal teenager joking around with his brother and nephews. In fact, House of the Dragon episode 6 shows that the sons of Aegon and Rhaenyra, specifically Jacaerys, started out as friends. That was of course until Alicent pretty much turned him into a monster. Throughout future episodes and possibly the next season of House of the Dragon, fans will absolutely hate Aegon. And not in the sense of love for hate, but just disgust and contempt for him.

7. Craghas Drahar aka Crabfeeder

Fans definitely hated this character but not as much because he wasn’t central to the House of the Dragon story. Nonetheless, the menacing Craghas Drahar who pins sailors to sandboards and feeds them carnivorous crabs makes our list.

8. Lord Jason Lannister

Lord Jason Lannister is by far the lightest offender on this list. He’s still hated by fans and Rhaenyra too, but not enough. His commentary on how long it takes women to get dressed, his larger than life ego, and his arrogance make him very easy to hate. However, he too isn’t really a central character in House of the Dragon.
