Tamera Darvette Mowry was born on July 6, 1978, in Gelnhausen, in what was then West Germany. Her parents, Darlene Renee Mowry (née Flowers) and Timothy John Mowry, were both serving in the United States Army at the time of their daughter’s birth. Darlene later became guardian of her children, and Timothy continued to work as a custodial officer/jailer for the Glendale City Police Department after the family moved to California.
