Man-Thing is one of the most obscure characters in the MCU. Often compared to Swamp Thing in the DC Universe, Man-Thing is potentially a powerful and important figure in the stakes of Kang the Conqueror’s dynasty quest. Man-Thing is a character with many origins, spin-offs, and one of the weirdest lore in comics. With her wink and you’ll miss her appearance in the trailer for night werewolf let’s discuss why Man-Thing could be a great player in the MCU in the future.
5. Man-Thing can explore more horror elements
The Man-Thing’s most recognizable ability is demonstrated when he uses a “burning touch” on one of the Monster Hunters. Showing that anyone or anything that feels fear burns when the Man-Thing touches them. It’s a powerful feature and lends itself to the idea of applying horror elements to character interactions as a Guardian of the Multiverse (which we’ll dive into later) and the grotesque moments that might be created. The character’s origin, like so many MCU characters, is another failed replication of the Super-Soldier Serum, and it’s perhaps the most grotesque example of a transformation among failed experiments.
4. Another Super Soldier Serum Origin
In Man-Thing’s most consistent origin, to keep the Super-Soldier Serum from falling into the wrong hands, Dr. Theodore “Ted” Sallis gave himself an injection. Sallis became susceptible to the mystical forces that swept through the Florida Everglades as a result of the serum, and he was transformed into an entirely new lifeform with only a faint trace of humanity.
3. We Can Get Weird With The MCU
There are tons of opportunities to explore the character in night werewolf and potentially in future series and movies. This character also cannot be omitted from potentially being in a son of midnight film with its mystical connections. Man-Thing can also have similar marketing appeal to Groot and still have a different image and personality.
2. Confirms the existence of the MCU’s Nexus of All Realities
The Nexus of All Realities, a gap in the space-time continuum connecting all realities, was guarded by The Man-Thing. There has been speculation about which characters might be Nexus Beings and in Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness and Wanda Vision there are teases about the idea of Nexus beings and that the witch Scarlett might be one. With the introduction of Man-Thing, we were able to get an in-depth exposition of how Nexus realities, beings, and structures work.
1. A major obstacle for Kang the Conqueror
The Man-Thing could be an important player in the upcoming multiverse conflict as protector of the Nexus of All Realities. This could make a significant contribution to the overall story of Phases 4-6, as this character is a pivotal figure in Marvel Comics’ multi-versal storylines. The rift in each parallel timeline, known as the Nexus of All Realities, in the comics, has a designated protector for it. One of the most important guards is the Man-Thing, who is connected to the magical energies around the Nexus through his engineered mutation. He could be a major deterrent for Kang or even help defeat Kang by Avengers: Kang Dynasty.
