In 2011, Warner Bros announced that they cast Henry Cavill for the role of Superman. Casting has been announced for Cavill’s first appearance as DC Superman in the 2013 Steel man. Zack Snyder, the film’s director, also said Cavill was the perfect choice to don the S Cloak and Shield. Cavill quickly picked up the conversation to be another British actor to star in a superhero role.
However, after the film was released, it was clear that no one thought about the nationality of the actor, because people liked him in the role. Henry Cavill then played Superman in three other films. He is also expected to make an appearance in the upcoming film, black adamalongside Dwayne Johnson.

Stephen Colbert was freaked out by Henry Cavill’s accent
Stephen Colbert was perhaps one of the people who initially wasn’t a fan of Henry Cavill’s casting as Superman. Henry Cavill appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for the second season of the witcher. Colbert greeted him saying:Nice to meet you. We have never had the opportunity to speak before.
To which he replied, “But we are here now.” After which, Stephen Colbert shares that his accent still scares him. He said, “I have to tell you, it always freaks me out when I hear your accent. Because you’re so presumably an American to me.
He further says that Cavill is the most American of them all. “You are the most American of them all, you are Superman,” he said. Hearing his praise, Henry Cavill thanked him, but somehow he felt like that wasn’t always what he thought of him.
He thanked the host and asked, “That hasn’t always been your feeling, has it?” Stephen Colbert immediately agreed with the actor and also admitted to having made fun of him by saying that we wanted a Supermannot a Smashing Gent.

Henry Cavill talks about the missing accessory from his Superman costume
On the show, Stephen Colbert also asked about one of the things his suit was missing. He asked, “I love the look of your Superman. What do you think about him not having big red underwear?”
All Superman, before Cavill had the big red undergarment on his suit. The undergarment was one of the iconic pieces of Superman’s costume.
Henry Cavill agreed with Colbert and said it had the potential to work and could have been added somehow. “I really loved my costume, I thought it was pretty cool. However, if it were to happen again, I would definitely be open to adding the trunks in some way,” said added Cavill.

Warner Bros announced at the time that they were open to creating a star with the 2013 Superman to restart. The studio mainly focused either on a discovery or on a television actor who was not very popular.
Henry Cavill auditioned for Batman but lost it to Christian Bale. Not only that, Brett Ratner and Joseph McGinty Nichol, professionally known as McG, have had Cavill on their minds ever since. The Return of Superman. But after Bryan Singer came to direct the film, Brandon Routh was cast in the lead role in the film.
Henry Cavill was eventually cast as Superman in the 2013 Superman the Man of Steel. Cavil has since starred in several successful films and is also set to appear in the upcoming film, black adam. He is also on Netflix Enola Holmes 2 alongside Millie Bobby Brown.
