The announcement of Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in the MCU has given way to chaos. Zac Efron has been rumored to portray a younger version of Wolverine, but the allegations have people divided over the mixed reception the actor is getting.
The actor appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where the duo discussed rumors that Marvel cast him as Wolverine (from another universe obviously).
Will Zac Efron be chosen for Wolverine?
The actor recently appeared in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where Jimmy Fallon opened the discussion about Marvel looking for a “Zac Efron Type”. The actor answered how Marvel could have called him straight as he would also be thrilled with such a big role.

Jimmy Fallon opened up the talks with the question of whether Zac Efron has ever been approached by Marvel for a role.
“Have you ever been approached by Marvel? It was just – I thought it was funny that they say a Zac Efron type, but you – There was a rumor that you were going to be Wolverine at some point.
The Baywatch the actor replied “Really? Shit,”. Jimmy assured her that “People want that” but he didn’t know much about the fan reactions. People took to Twitter to blast Zac Efron because people felt there was already a lot going on in the MCU.

The general general feeling of the public was a big no for The greatest showman actor since Hugh Jackman will return to play Wolverine in the next Dead Pool 3. The actor further stated that Hugh Jackman is “do it pretty well”.

Should Zac Efron return as young Wolverine?

Since the start of the Multiversal Theory in Marvel’s Wanda Vision, the possibilities were literally… endless. According to reports, it could very well be true that Zac Efron could play the role of Wolverine but from another universe or just appear out of nowhere since he is Dead Pool 3 we’re talking about.
The actor also previously worked with Wolverine star Hugh Jackman in the hit musical The greatest showman and considering Ryan Reynolds, he just might give us a Zac Efron cameo just to prank his real-life best friend Hugh Jackman.
Dead Pool 3 will be released on September 6, 2024 in theaters across the United States.
