Zac Efron has responded to Wolverine casting rumors after it was announced that Hugh Jackman would play him again in Dead Pool 3.
Last week, fans received some long-awaited news regarding Dead Pool 3. The sequel, which will now officially take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will not only see the return of Ryan Reynolds as the titular Merc with a Mouth, but also Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, making it his first appearance since his acclaimed film. During the conversation, he was asked about Marvel Studios’ intentions to cast “a Zac Efron type” in an upcoming project, to which he replied:

Zac Efron often finds himself a popular candidate among fans to fill the role of certain characters who have yet to receive their official introduction into the MCU. While Wolverine has been elevated, characters such as The Human Torch in the Fantastic Four have also been tossed around by fans. Whether it’s the return of Hugh Jackman in Dead Pool 3 is any indication that the original Fox X-Men will be fully implemented in the MCU remains to be seen.
