The MCU Theory Finally Settles the Debate – Explains Why Captain America Can Never Beat Black Panther in a Fight

Black Panther is probably one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having almost superhuman-like powers. The character, played by the late Chadwick Boseman, has powers enhanced by a particular heart-shaped herb given to him as part of a sacred ascension ritual exclusively reserved for Wakandan kings.

This very herb is the root essence of the super-soldier serum that was administered to Steve Rogers, resulting in the first Avenger-Captain America in the United States. Well, that’s according to a Reddit user, who offers a theory that Abraham Erskine made the original serum using the heart-shaped weed, which he acquired from a man whose last name resonates. in the ears of Marvel fans.

Black Panther Empowering Herb was used in making Super Soldier Serum

Black Panther introduced us to the world of Wakanda, ruled by T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), where the country’s history was shown to Marvel fans. One of the most notable things to note in the film was the heart-shaped herb, a plant with roots native to Wakanda that the country’s kings consume after first becoming rulers.

The plant showed us the powers it attributes to the consumer, like Boseman’s T’Challa – heightened senses, immense strength, quick reflexes, etc., and most notably, entry into the astral plane.

The theory that the heart-shaped herb is the main ingredient used to make the super-soldier serum comes from the introspective mind of a Reddit user.

How Erskine might have obtained the herb is explained by the user, who says he got a sample of the herb from Howard Stark while sourcing vibranium from the land of Wakanda. The user further explains that this is plausible since Black Panther and Captain America share similar powers.

This theory, if true, serves as reasoning behind another theory that explains why Captain America can’t beat Black Panther head-on in a 1v1. Keep reading to learn more.

The Black Panther-Captain America-Bucky Chase In Civil War Explains It All

It’s more of a comparison between heart-shaped weed and super soldier serum in the MCU, where using both power-enhancing consumables resulted in two near-superhuman characters.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane to this scene in Captain America: Civil War, where Black Panther appears out of the blue to hunt a runaway Bucky, who is also being followed by Captain America.

The Chase shows us one of his sequences where Bucky is being chased by both T’Challa and Steve Rogers inside an underpass full of traffic-riding cars. The three move easily between the sets of vehicles, but it’s T’Challa who clearly overtakes Rogers as they chase Bucky, who is ultimately knocked down by…T’Challa!

This scene proves that the heart-shaped weed that was given to Black Panther gives him an edge over the serum-fueled super-soldier Captain America. Thus, proving that the super soldier serum provides a lower result in granting powers compared to the heart-shaped herb. The serum is simply a cheaper counterfeit! (although Rogers is quite strong).

It’ll be interesting to see if Marvel continues to make a movie where these two characters go against each other, but it will take quite a while since there’s no one to play Black Panther after Chadwick Boseman’s untimely death.

The enhanced IMAX version of Captain America: Civil War is currently available to stream on Disney+.
