Black Panther: Wakanda Forever The latest trailer gave us our first look at Black Panther, the protector of Wakanda and, at first glance, Shuri took the place of his brother. The tech-loving sister who was often seen pulling T’Challa’s leg and having some very lively fun with her brother would now be responsible for wearing the hood that’s supposed to be the symbol of the people of Wakanda.
This revelation contradicted many fans who thought Killmonger would return to the franchise after his death in the first film to take on the role of Black Panther. Killmonger and M’Baku fans should now adopt Shuri as their new superhero.

Black Panther’s legacy passes on to the throne; shuri
There has been a long ongoing debate about whether Black Panther as T’Challa should be recast or if his costume should be passed on to someone else worthy of it. On the face of it, the MCU seems to have made up its mind in giving this legacy to T’Challa’s sister, Shuri.
Shuri made her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Black Panther then continued to make witty comments in Avengers: Infinity War as well as making an appearance in the film’s sequel. Now the character will once again be seen played by Letitia Wright in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Although it’s just been hinted, it’s safe to say Killmonger or M’Baku wouldn’t inherit the legacy, instead Shuri’s fun-loving personality just might find a new sense of responsibility in her- same.
In the wise words of Ben Parker, “with great power comes great responsibility;” and Shuri might just learn what the phrase means.

Fans react to seeing Letitia Wright as Black Panther
The latest trailer for the film has sparked a lot of opinions on social media. Twitter itself found plenty of people sharing their love for Shuri or Wright. While many are also expressing their dismay as they cannot see the character they expected to see as their new Black Panther.
FINALLY YOU CAN ALL CLOSE ON KILLMONGER AND M’BAKU BE THE BLACK PANTHER. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY SHURI

There was also discussion about whether or not Letitia Wright would be the right choice, but in the end, the character and the actor aren’t the same people. There had been a raging dispute over who should take on the inheritance and Shuri was also seen with the mantle in the comics, so seeing the same in the movies suits many as well.
Shuri was always going to be Black Panther idk why was everyone saying it was going to be people like M’Baku or Killmonger pic.twitter.com/ftNEecsjN3

The inability for many to think that Shuri isn’t capable of being Black Panther in the next movie is downright misogynous! So much so that they ignore the comics and try to say they should have brought the hitman back or recast tchalla

Many fans choose to believe that this anointing is only temporary and will be taken over by someone else by the end of the film. Whether that’s the case or not, regardless of the trailer release, Shuri will be the one we’ll initially see as Black Panther.
M’Baku becomes BP at the very end. sorry buddy
