The long wait for Henry Cavill’s Superman on the big screen has finally come to an end with the release of black adam being only a few days away. Since the release of his breakthrough film Steel man, Henry Cavill has been the fan favorite caped hero. Every time he appears on the screen, everyone has to clap.
Zack Snyder’s introduction of Cavill as a hero had come with a long wish to also use John Williams’ original Superman theme for his version, but Warner Bros. Discovery had refused this request, and with it; The Hans Zimmer theme was brought to life, becoming emblematic of Henry Cavill and his reign as a beacon of hope for Metropolis.

The attempt to bring back classics from the Henry Cavill era
During the manufacture of Steel man Zack Snyder did his best to get WBD to give him permission to use John Williams’ Superman theme which was not only a classic but would also mark a whole new face for the hero, however, Superman himself would be always the same, the one who saves people when they think they cannot be saved. The fact that he’s a fan of Williams was extra motivation for the director to go the extra mile to make something like this happen.
Much to his dismay, however, Warner Bros. Discovery did not think the same. Hans Zimmer was then hired as the composer and music producer for the film and with that Henry Cavill’s Superman had its theme which ran for several films, Zack Snyder’s Justice League being the last place it was used.
The appearance of the character in black adam changes everything since, when it appeared in the film, it was not Hans Zimmer’s theme that was playing, but John Williams’.

WBD has been very resistant to Zack Snyder’s return to the DCEU and on the face of it, even with his movie’s theme now being scrapped, it’s probably their way of saying goodbye to the director for good. The message may be loud and clear to fans as well, but it doesn’t seem like they would get used to it.

The idea of Henry Cavill’s Superman appearing without its theme might seem absurd to many, but the DCEU did it. WBD now not only went against what they said earlier and given what Snyder had been asking for from the very beginning. Zimmer’s theme has managed to find a place in many hearts and fans want it back.

Wanting to see Superman with his theme after so long is a fair thing to ask according to fans, but for WBD, John Williams’ theme will likely be Superman’s future instead of Hans Zimmer’s.
