Why did Panya Khamrab kill 34 people?
At around 3pm local time, the attacker committed suicide, his wife and their child after he was attacked at the daycare center in Nong Bua Lamphu, Thailand (9am UK time).
At least 34 people were killed, including 24 children, when a former police officer opened fire on a nursery in northern Thailand.

Major General Achayon Kraithong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, said no one wanted the tragedy to happen.
“I want to start by sending my condolences to all the families who have lost loved ones,” the speaker continued.
Social media users are asked to refrain from sharing images and videos of the injured.
General Anupong Paochinda has ordered the closure of all child development centers in the area.
Thailand has fewer mass shootings than some of its neighbors, despite having a significantly higher frequency of gun ownership.

According to police, the attacker returned home after the heinous crime in a white van, where he then shot his wife and child dead before killing himself.
About 30 young people were sleeping in a confined room in the center when the gunman burst in and violently shot and stabbed them.
After that, he continued his rampage outside, running over passers-by with his truck and shooting them. Footage from the scene shows victims covered in blankets lying on the floor of the nursery.
