All of Musk’s App X
According to Musk, its acquisition of social media platform Twitter has accelerated the development of X and could cut the project’s timeline by three to five years.
He offered suggestions for improving Twitter, saying it should resemble WeChat and TikTok, the well-known video-sharing app owned by ByteDance Ltd. which has become popular in the United States. He also mentioned the so-called “super apps”, which are used in various Asian regions and allow users to access a variety of smartphone services, including automatic communications and calls.
Musk’s vision for app X
App X “All in Podcast” focuses on using all services through one app. The X app allows users to access a wide range of services, including texting, social media, video sharing, peer-to-peer payments, car rental, and online shopping.
At the start of this week’s negotiations with Twitter, Elon Musk changed his mind and offered a $44 billion buyout. Additionally, he floated an idea to develop a social media network where users could access everything.
Everything in Podcast
X will serve as a one-stop-shop for all of a customer’s day-to-day digital needs. Just before attempting to halt the Twitter acquisition, Musk promised a group of wealthy investors, including Larry Ellison, a five-fold increase in revenue to $26.4 billion by 2028. He could transform Twitter into a WeChat for the free world in six years, achieving 931 million daily users, roughly equivalent to China’s mega app. Plus, he could create a payments company then that could bring in $1.3 billion a year, which would reduce Twitter’s reliance on advertising.
Super software that combines social media, chat, video games, payments and the All-In podcast is needed, according to Musk, in the United States. Asians are using the internet to access great apps, said Scott Galloway, a New York University marketing professor and co-host of the “Pivot” tech podcast.
In a public meeting with the Twitter team a month later, Musk reiterated that notion. I think if we can do that, or even come close to it on Twitter, that would be an incredible success,” Elon Musk said, according to CNN. He also predicted that Twitter’s user population, which is currently just over 200 million, could expand to “at least a billion people”.
X app features
Every user will benefit from the capabilities of Application X. Every element of our digital lives would undoubtedly be affected, although many of the same services, including
- Messaging
- Audio and video calls
- Spread news
- Streaming Media
- Play a video game
- Post photos of daily life
- Interact with colleagues at work
- Integration of stock market and cryptocurrencies
- Ordering food at the restaurant and paying for it
- Booking tickets for a show
- Call a taxi (or a self-driving Tesla)
Elon Must and his X universe
Musk co-founded X.com in 1999, an online bank that later merged with another company to become PayPal. In 2017, he paid an undisclosed sum to PayPal to buy out the domain name X.com.
In the meantime, Musk founded SpaceX in 2002 and unveiled the Model X through his company Tesla in 2015.
To further its acquisition of Twitter, Musk created three holding entities in Delaware under the name “X Holdings”.
The plethora of powerful players with similar goals makes it difficult to create a “super app” with an American focus in the United States. Examples include Facebook and Instagram’s pushes into e-commerce, and Snapchat’s experiments with peer-to-peer payments. While Amazon has entered into many aspects of daily life, Walmart is now participating in the world of online banking.
