Matt Buschmann had one of the best minor league baseball careers of his generation.

His professional baseball career began in 2006 when the San Diego Padres drafted him in the 15th round of the 2006 entry draft. He was later signed by scout Ash Lawson and the year became the turning point of his professional life .

Buschmann started his pro career with an impressive 3.19 ERA in 17 games. He made 12 starts, going a combined 4-4. His 2007 season is remembered as he recorded 12-6 with a 2.89 ERA in 28 games, starting 25 games.

As a result, he was named the California League’s postseason star and won two pitcher of the week awards in 2007.

In 2008, he joined San Antonio Missions and had an equally impressive season. He finished the season 10-6 with a 2.98 ERA in his 27 starts for the Missions. This earned him a spot in the Texas League All-Stars.

Buschmann’s record in 2010 and 2011 miraculously dropped due to many things. However, his form rejuvenated when the Montgomery Biscuits selected him in 2012. He was excellent with the Durham Bulls in 2012 and 2013, with 3.98 ERA and 2.86 ERA respectively.

Due to his consistent performance in the minor league, the Arizona Diamondbacks allowed him to play in the major league. He made his MLB debut on April 10, 2016.

His last MLB appearance was on April 16, 2016, playing three Major League Baseball games.
